Welcome to the Mentee Application for the 2023 Mentorship Program!
2023 Program Mission
You have the opportunity to have one of the most rewarding professional experiences you can have where you will be partnered with successful industry veterans of 10+ years who will share their knowledge, wisdom and expertise in a one-on-one or group mentoring setting.
Many of our mentees return to the Program over multiple years and often pay it forward to become industry mentors themselves.
We do give priority to first time applicants but with our expanded group and hybrid formats we will be able to deliver more mentoring opportunities this year.
The application takes about 10 minutes to fill out and we have provided additional details of the Program here so you are clear on expectations, level of commitment and the steps you need to take.
CORE COMMITMENTS
The Mentorship Program creates a valuable opportunity for building relationships between young and veteran leaders that provides a unique growth experience that enhances both their professional careers and personal developments. To achieve this, it is critical that all participants adhere to our core commitments:
- The 2023 Mentorship Program will run from September 2023 - July 2024 (11 Months).
- Mentors and Mentees will meet on a monthly basis throughout the duration of the program sessions.
- Mentors and Mentees will attend 100% of the program’s events to support meaningful connection and engagement.
- Mentors and Mentees will foster trusting relationships and keep all conversations confidential.
- Violations of confidentiality are a serious breach of the Mentor-Mentee relationship and, at the discretion of ULI, may lead to immediate suspension from the Program.
- Mentees understand that the Mentorship Program is first and foremost an opportunity for professionals to share valuable insights and network within the sector.
- The Program Is not designed to solicit or provide job opportunities.
MENTEE PROGRAM COST
$225 CDN + HST
You will be required to provide payment by August 18, 2023 after you have completed your application and only if you have been selected for the Program which will be confirmed on or before Friday, August 4, 2023.
The fees collected support the guided and social sessions that will be held during the 11 months of the Program and also off-set the costs to manage and coordinate all associated events.
The Mentorship Program is open to ULI members. If you are not a current ULI Member, go to ULI Membership and sign up for a membership and then come back to apply immediately for the Mentorship Program.
SELECTION CRITERIA & REQUIREMENTS
Please submit your application by Friday, June 30th, 2023 .
Selection Criteria:
- All applicants must be active members of ULI Toronto. If you are not a member of ULI you can join now and then apply for the Program. Not a ULI Member?
Join ULI Membership!
- Mentee applicants must have at least two (2) years of relevant full-time work experience prior to the time of application.
- Applicants must complete the application in full however application does not guarantee entrance into the Program.
- We do not consider full/part-time students in undergraduate/graduate programs unless they have met the relevant working experience criteria.
- Due to limited availability, not all applicants may be accepted. Preference will be given to first-time participants but returning Mentees are encouraged and welcome to apply.
Application Requirements:
- Short Bio (<250 words) describing your current work in the industry and interest in the program which will be included in the Mentee Directory hosted on ULI’s website
- Resume/CV or Link to Linkedin Profile
- Photo (optional) for inclusion in the Mentee Directory and use on ULI’s website plus communications
- Selected mentees will be informed on or before Friday, August 4, 2023. Once your application has been accepted, ULI Staff will reach out with the next steps and payment will be required.
- Entrance into the Program requires payment no later than August 18, 2023.
